MEDICAL

Long life and low noise are key factors to consider when selecting pumps for medical equipment.

With a reputation for reliability and quiet operation, MAXCLEVER products are found in all types of equipment designed to monitor, sterilize, diagnose and analyze. Other applications assist in healing, promote patient's comfort and support life itself.

Typical applications for MAXCLEVER products include:

Air Mattresses

Patients who spend prolonged periods laying still will rapidly develop uncomfortable bedsores. A medical air mattress is a bed consisting of multiple cells. These cells slowly inflate and deflate according to the selected program - and hence simulate body movement.

Aspirators

Aspirators are widely used in the medical industry today and are found in hospitals and clinics as well as doctor's and dentist's offices. The integrated diaphragm pump creates a partial vacuum which is used to remove fluids, tissue or foreign material from bodily wounds and injuries. High end aspirators are mostly found in surgery.

Autoclaves

Modern, higher end, steam autoclaves (so-called Europe Class) work with pre- and post-vacuum. Before the actual sterilisation process the chamber is repeatedly evacuated - in fractionating steps - with the help of a vacuum pump.

Bath Seats

The chair is designed to allow easy access in and out of bathtubs for handicapped or mobility impaired people. A strong, comfortable and lightweight moulded plastic chair seats in the tub and lowers and lifts by means of a bellows that is inflated by compressed air.

Blood Analyzers

Blood analyzers provide medical technicians time-critical blood analysis information required to make treatment decisions quickly and accurately. These types of analysers can measure such blood properties as red and white cell count, glucose, drugs and medication, and many others. They require compressed air to move the vials and instrumentation required to perform the analysis.

Blood Pressure Monitors

In clinical intensive care units a patient's vital signs need to be monitored at least every 15 to 30 minutes. This is accomplished with patient monitors which typically display the patient's heart rate, body temperature, respiration rate and blood pressure. A miniature compressor is responsible for inflating the cuff at the beginning of each blood pressure measurement.

Chair Lifts

Chair lifts offer just the right amount of assistance for someone who requires help standing up or sitting down. To stand, the entire chair is gently lifted up and forward. To sit, the same principle is used in reverse.

Compression Therapy

The three chambers of the sleeves are filled with air in succession: Chamber 1 to 100 %, chamber 2 to 80 %, and chamber 3 to 60 % of the set treatment pressure. All the chambers remain filled with air until the last chamber has attained the desired treatment pressure. The air is then released simultaneously from all the three chambers, and after an interval the inflation cycle begins once again.

Dental Carts

Dental carts usually sit beside the patient chair and offer the dentist several options to perform the tasks required during a routine dental visit. These carts have compressed air and vacuum on board to draw the required air or pressure or vacuum from stationary systems mounted in the basement.

Dialysis Machines

Haemodialysis is a process by which excess waste products are removed from the patient's blood that is drawn through a special created vein in the forearm known as arterio-venous. This process requires the use of a dialysis machine. The blood flows through plastic tubes to the dialyser that is a bundle of hollow fibres made from a semi-permeable membrane. These types of machines require a peristaltic pump.

Drug Delivery

These systems are used to dispense medication to patients in liquid form that cannot be taken by means of a pill or injection. They are usually dispensed by means of an IV. They are widely used in hospitals and medial clinics.

Gas Monitoring

Used to determinate the baseline levels of waste anesthetic gases during surgical procedures and also prior to surgery. Testing of breathing zone levels in all OR's, the recovery room and ancillary areas as required.

Nebulizers

A nebuliser consists of a nebuliser (mouthpiece) and a compressor. The airflow to the nebuliser changes the medication solution to a very fine mist.

Nitrogen Generators

An integral membrane based system to transform standard compressed air into a continuous stream of dry nitrogen to supply both single and multiple instruments at purity levels ranging from 99% to 99.95%.

Oxygen Concentrators

Oxygen Concentrators are used today to treat patients who suffer from respiratory (lung related) diseases. An O2 concentrator utilises a compressor to change ambient oxygen of 21% and boosts it to between 85% to 90%.

Respirators (Ventilators)

Medical respirators are used in many areas for a wide variety of reasons. One area is in the operating room. It must serve a dual purpose. The surgical mask reduces exposure to the wearer of airborne particles in procedures such as laser and electrocautery.

Wound Aeration

A special therapy which is an effective system that applies controlled, localised subatmospheric pressure to the wound site to promote wound healing. It has been used effectively in treating thousands of wounds of different aetiologies in all care settings.
